　　Star of the young generation of Chinese painters, born in China in 1968 in Xian, in the province of Shaanxi. In 1989, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Xian. He remains in his hometown until 2002, when he decided to move to Beijing, where he lives and works.

　　The work of Liu Baomin questions concerned the future of China. For this he uses different modes of languages ranging from surrealism to realism through more phases abstracts. La first set of "Extreme Illusion" also called "White Face" is an ironic response to the standards imposed by the Chinese Cultural Revolution and the new consumer society, in various ways, continues to impose. The artist denounces, through his works, this new disposition.

　　The characters in the second round of "Illusions" also known as "Splitting Face”, are lost in a world where spiritual values no longer exist, where everything goes too fast. He paints large canvases in which subjects are revealed only when several meters away from work. So his self-portrait, Mao or Chinese soldier appear to be abstract compositions and are nearly invisible. Through a "fail veil of rain or tears we can not recognize their true face, no longer distinguish what is real and what is not. The result is a huge emotion but also very complex. In this work, there is no question of irony or cynicism, the artist exhibited with the serious concern of an entire people: What will be its status in this society so modern?

　　劉保民是中國年輕一代畫家，1968年出生在中國西安，陝西省。1989年，畢業於西安美術學院。
　　劉保民的創作論點取自對中國未來走向的未知。藝術家透過作品對社會進行批判，透過融合超現實主義及現實主義手法創作，表達藝術家對當今社會所緬懷的特殊情感。創作“至幻”系列，亦稱為“白臉”，作為諷刺中國文化大革命和如今新消費社會的極大對比與反差。
　　藝術家以“分裂的臉孔”來表現“幻”，反應當今社會的精神價值已不存在，因社會變遷速度太快而失去真實感。不論是自己的自畫像、毛澤東或中國士兵，都幾近抽象，幾乎無法辨識；在那似雨似淚的面紗覆蓋下，看不清，也不知什麼是真實。
