In his original comic manuscripts, paper grain, ink density, and revision marks preserve the immediacy of artistic judgement. Lines hesitate, accelerate, and return; panels pause and breathe. The manuscripts operate as autonomous works that expose the mechanics of visual storytelling—composition as a structure of thought.
His acrylic paintings move decisively from sequential narration to painterly recomposition. Figures are released from the grid and reorganized as visual elements—color fields, rhythmic forms, and spatial tensions. Rather than illustrating episodes, the paintings construct atmospheres, shaped by the artist’s sensitivity to architecture, music, and formal balance.
Through this parallel development of manuscripts and paintings, Old Master Q evolves from a cultural icon into a contemporary image system capable of continuous reinterpretation.
