At Art Taipei 2025, Modern Art Gallery presents Flow: A Space of Resonance for Tranquility and Strength at Booth B22. The exhibition invites viewers into a state of immersion—reflecting the artist’s concentrated act of creation and the contemplative experience of the audience. Here, cultural memory and material presence intertwine, opening pathways of perception beyond the limits of language.
Joseph WONG Chak|Cultural Symbols in Motion
Wong reinterprets the iconic figure of Old Master Q, detaching it from narrative comics and transforming it into bold, graphic compositions. Familiar images re-emerge in unfamiliar contexts, oscillating between nostalgia and estrangement. His works highlight how popular symbols shift across cultural and artistic domains, encouraging reflection on collective memory and contemporary society.
SHIH Li-Jen|Materializing Life and Civilization
Taiwanese sculptor Shih Li-Jen forges life and civilization into metal, where rhinos embody both ecological concern and humanistic spirit. Alongside his signature Rhino series, Shih presents the monumental Swift Horse, inspired by the legendary steed from Chinese history. Armored and mythic in form, it conveys resilience and vitality, channeling both cultural memory and spiritual strength.
QU Qianmei|Eastern Contemplation, Inner Stillness
Paris-based artist Qu Qianmei fuses Eastern philosophy with abstract expression. Layer upon layer of mineral pigments and lacquer form landscapes that hover between the visible and the invisible. Her works embody the principle of “quiet observation,” condensing time on canvas and opening an introspective space where nature and self meet in silent dialogue.
JIANG Miao|Fields of Perception
Jiang Miao works across acrylic carving and oil painting, guided by the belief that “where language ends, art begins.” Points, lines, and planes are transformed into tactile structures that render invisible energies tangible. Accumulated and incised layers trace the passage of time, unfolding visual fields that invite viewers into resonance between the inner spirit and the cosmos.
Together, these four artists create a polyphonic dialogue across symbol, civilization, philosophy, and perception. Flow becomes not only an exhibition but also a field of resonance, offering collectors and audiences alike a chance to encounter tranquility, strength, and renewed ways of seeing.
